Outstanding piece, I nodded along to it all - I really love the comparison between "chill" on global and systemic level all the way down to, like, our actual home lives and what this means for women living with men. It's complacency and it's not passive, it's damaging in it's lack of *anything at all*

Crucial thoughts. Only if your article were shorter. Why? Because your observation is spot on, original, and crucial to understand the today’s world’s major issues such as emerging "chill"-fascism, climate denial, dying nature, name your favourite topic. Being a white Gen-X man myself, I’m totally fed up with my peers’ complacency. The world go down anyway. So, I’m rightfully enjoying my trip to Iceland, my Porsche, the barbecue at the tennis club. And then they talk about self-optimisation … unfortunately their spouses are often not better.

Thank you for sharing! Agree that complacency is never the answer

Hey Hans,

I‘m subscribed to your articles which I find really interesting. However, I often wonder, why doesn‘t he simplify his writing? It‘s too technical and difficult to understand for non-economists.

If Cass writes such a long article about the WGC it means that she is extremly fed up with them and she has to vomit it out, bringing up many interesting and funny points. Cheers.

"It‘s too technical and difficult to understand for non-economists.” Thanks for the feedback, BTW!!

Agreed, Earthkeeper. I’m struggling myself finding a voice that has both clarity and truth. Even if I manage to get rid off most of the fluff, the predicament of truth vs clarity/simplicity remains.
