Unpaid internships should be banned, full stop. If you're doing the work, you should be paid, no matter if you're young and inexperienced.

Wish I knew some of this before I started there and could see the signals. It's terrible to see how many legal loopholes there are to keep hiring skilled trainees for unpaid labour in political institutions - a reflection of their values.
